Therapist helping a client untangle a messy ball of threads

Therapy is personal.

Your therapist should feel like a person.

You bring a lot into a therapy room

What happened last week. The argument you keep having. The thing you can’t stop thinking about. Something from ten years ago that you didn’t expect to talk about at all.

Sometimes it all feels connected. Sometimes it doesn’t.

A good therapist listens for threads and themes. They notice patterns, ask questions, challenge you when you need it, and help you make sense of what may be hard to see when you’re in the middle of it.

It’s our mission to help you figure it out.

We’ve been doing this for a while.

Pecan Branch Counseling was founded by Brandy Stiles and Cyndi Doyle, who have been in practice together in Denton since 2010.

What started with the two of us has grown into a group of therapists with different specialities, personalities, experiences, and ways of working.

We built Pecan Branch around something we’ve believed from the beginning: who your therapist is matters.

Training matters. Experience matters. The approach they use matters. So does sitting across from someone you can talk to. Someone who gets curious. Someone who will tell you what they are noticing. Someone who challenges because growth and change don’t come without it. Someone who can laugh with you and also stay with you when the conversation gets hard. You might not know their story, but you feel seen and heard by the way they connect with you.

Pecan Branch was voted Best of Denton in 2025. We’re proud of that. We have had the privilege of being a part of this community for more than 15 years!

Different Therapist. Different Strengths.

There isn’t one Pecan Branch therapist personality.

Just like you, we are shaped by our own experiences. We encourage our therapists to bring some of their personality to the room. Their energy. Their vibe. Their humor. Their compassion.

It’s intentional.

We work with adults, couples, teens, children, college students, families, first responders, and veterans. Each of our therapists has a certain passion or reason for their specialization area.

We are also advocates, allies, and members of the LGBTQ+ community with therapists who understand that identity and lived experience may or may not play a role in what brings you to therapy.

Finding the right therapist matters.

You don’t have to figure out which therapist is the best fit by scrolling.

Tell us a little about what brought you here and what you are looking for. We’ll be happy to help you figure out which of our therapists may be the best fit.

Then, you can connect with them and decide for yourself.
